FALLing For You!

Today's card was a really fun one to make using sketch #72 and inspired by the color challenge from Your Next Stamp and it will also be entered @ Crafty Sentiments for "Dies and/or Punches", @ Fairy Tale Challenges for "Men Only", @ Cardz 4 Guyz for "Nature", @ Retro Rubber for "Anything Goes" and at the Crafty Addict for "Use a Brad or Button".

The background papers I used on this card are something new for me, as they are printed on rather thin paper and have a glossy sheen to them just like a magazine page would...I got them for free in the middle of  the August issue of Paper Craft Inspirations magazine. This is a UK crafting magazine that I just got a year's subscription to and I am loving it so far! It is a full color magazine filled to the brim with lots of inspiring artwork, free papers to tear out and use, plus each issue comes with a free gift of some kind...this month was a snowflake border die and last month was a layered flower stamp set. You can also find these magazines @ Barnes & Nobles and @ JoAnn Fabrics stores locally.

The stamp sets I used for this card are a good mix -starting with a retired 2 step foliage stamp set from A*Muse Studio that I got on clearance in the summer of 2016, the acorn is from CTMH and the circle alphabet peg set is at least 8 years old. The die cuts are fairly new and were received through the Spellbinder's small die of the month club and the inside sentiment is newly retired and comes from CAS-ual Friday stamps.

I stamped the acorns in brown, the leaf outlines in black and the solid leaves in dye ink over top. Using the corner rounder punch softens the corners and follows the sketch guidelines.

I die cut the FALL from a matte gold metallic piece and stamped the "ing" in black Stazon ink so that it would dry quickly and not smear on the slick surface. the card base is a cream A2 and the leaf patterned paper was glued right on top.

The jeweled brads follow the sketch and highlight the colors in the paper so well! I popped the leaf focal up using mini foam dots to give it some added dimension and added Glossy Accents to the tops of the acorns.

Inside I used a strip of the plaid, a scrap of the gold and stamped and fussy cut the acorns. "For You" is die cut from the same gold as the layer on the front and the sentiment stamped in black.

That's it for me today...until next time~

  2. I like the way you've used the negative space for the 'FALL' and the way you've played on the word itself to make a love card. Very clever and I like your combination of colours and patterns. Thanks for joining us at Retro Rubber Challenge this week.
