Lettuce Be Friends...

Today's design team project with Atlantic Hearts was a fun one to make using a brand new stamp set from Gerda Steiner called Wheek, Wheek, Wheek. (If you have ever had Guinea Pigs as pets, you will know what that is all about, lol!!!)

I stamped and watercolored all the images and then cut them out using my Scan N Cut machine...layered the lettuce leaves in a circle image around the piggie and popped some up with mini foam dots.

I used my new Triple Banner punch from Stampin Up! to make the sentiment banner and after stamping the sentiment in Versafine black ink I traced over it using a clear sparkle gel pen. A few sequins added the final perfect touch.

Peonies Bouquet Anniversary Card

Today's design team project is my first for the monthly moodboard challenge over on the Crafting Desert Divas Gallery FB page...come join us for a chance to win some prizes!

The Peonies Bouquet digital stamp image sure is a gorgeous one! I loved coloring it up using my watercolor crayons and then blending it out with a waterbrush.

Fun little details were added using Glossy Accents on the sentiment, berries and flower centers along with some iridescent glitter.

A Golfing Birthday Card

Today's card was inspired by sketch #49 @ Paper Play Sketches and will also be entered @ both Rubber Dance and Crafting with Dragonflies for "Embossing", @ Creative With Stamps for "Boys to Men" and @ Crafty Hazelnut for "Anything Goes with Patterned Paper".

I used quite a collection of older stamps from Stampin' Up! for this card...4 sets, once I chose my sentiment for the inside. 

The card base is an A7 white card, the patterned paper is from Basic Gray, the tab punch is from Stampin' Up and the embossing folder from Sizzix. I used the sketch visual to trim all my layers, sanded the navy cardstock after dry embossing it for the added distressed look and stapled the tab onto the bottom of it after stamping the HB in black ink.

Using Archival ink to stamp with, meant that I could use watercolor crayons with the dove blender and not have to worry about the ink bleeding. 

I didn't do alot of blending, because I wanted it to maintain that sketchy drawing look that this stamp style conveys.

Finishing up the card front, I added 3 silver sequins in different sizes from Pretty Pink Posh for the bottom left accent.

On the inside, I pierced the edges of the kraft rectangle, used the ticket corner punch on the white rectangle and stamped the sentiments & golfers in black ink. the tiny sliver of navy cardstock at the very bottom of the card was left-over from the front embossed panel...NOTHING goes to waste in my craft room, lol!

This card will be going to my son-in-law for his birthday this fall. Until next time~

Have a Seal-y Great Birthday!

Today's card was inspired by sketch #221 @ Atlantic Hearts Sketch Challenge and will be entered @ Stampotique Designers for "Use Tape" and @ Seize the Birthday for "Splatter". 

This super cute card was made by starting with a lilac top folding vertical A2 sized card front and lining up strips of coordinating washi tape across the card bottom to mimic the banner flags from the sketch.

Using a stamp set from Close To My Heart, I stamped the seal scene piece by piece in archival ink with the aid of a stamp positioning tool. ( I did test the stamp positions out first on a piece of scrap paper  to make sure I was happy with their placement)

I chose watercolor crayons to color this time, blending them with a blender pen and topping the birthday banner and beach ball with clear Wink of Stella shimmer. Using a black micron pigma pen, I free hand drew the horizon line along the bottom to help ground the design.

I then fussy cut out the identical scene I had first stamped on scrap paper to use as my mask while splattering the beautiful FSJ Silk. When that was dry, I then sent my colored square through my diecutting machine four times to add the straight stitched edge (die set from Lawn Fawn) around the perimeter.

To make the flower embellishment, I sponged pink dye ink and Wink of Stella over a white paper flower and then layered a smaller flower punched from vellum with a mini white brad to the middle. The darker lavender strip was mounted on the card front with a full strip of foam tape, which allowed me to make the indented texture in it with a ball tipped stylus for added detail and dimension. The last step for the card front was to heat emboss the "happy birthday" sentiment across the bottom of the card 3 times in Pearl white powder.

Inside I simply stamped a retired TAC birthday wishes and accented it with a GellyRoll Stardust pen and a snippet of washi tape left over from the front.
