Bridal Congrats

Today's design team project for the Atlantic Hearts Sketch Challenge is a bridal shower card for my niece who is getting married in October. I will also be entering it @ Angie's Digital Stamps for "Anything Goes -BINGO" , @ heARTful Stamping Challenge for "Anything Goes + a stamp" and @ 613 Avenue Create for "Anything Goes + Button and Bows".

I used the "Ribbon/Twine - Glitter - Embossing" diagonal row, as the dress and sentiment are embossed with black holographic embossing powder...the dress is colored with clear Wink of Stella  glitter pen and then I added the blue bow.

A touch of patterned paper on the inside carries over the theme from the front.

After die-cutting the main image with the pierced rectangle, I added the subtle touch of some pale blue chalk all around the dress image and sentiment stamp.

Until next time~

Mermazing Waves

Today's design team project is a 5 x 7 size card with Lemon Shortbread digital stamps and uses Mermaid Waving along with alot of die cuts and even some dry embossing!

I will also be entering her @ Di's Digi Challenge for "Summer Fun", @ Allsorts Challenge for "Use at Least 2 Dies", @ Dragonfly Dreams for "Anything Goes", @ Crafting From the Heart for "Anything Goes" and @ My Creative Scoop for "Color Inspiration Link Up #35".

I first colored her up with my Spectrum Noir markers and then did some layering over top with colored pencils. I highlighted her jewelry with a sparkly gel pen and added some shimmer over her tail and hair with a Wink of Stella clear marker.

I used a wave embossing folder on two different colors of jade cardstock, sanded it and then fussy cut around the edges. I die cut all the tropical plants from Spellbinders to resemble under the sea plants to coordinate with the beautiful patterned paper I found in my stash and layered everything on.

Until next time~

Happy Bird-Day

Today's design team project uses the latest sketch from Atlantic Hearts and a cute layering bird stamp set that I received with one of my British craft magazines several months ago and am just finally getting around to using for the first time!

Since the branch and leaves are all one stamp, in order to get them to have two different colors I had to color the stamps up first with water based markers -after stamping the image I then went over everything with a water brush to try to help the colors flow better. It didn't work perfectly, but it'll have to be good enough, lol!

The bird layers I stamped in 2 shades of brown plus the slate blue. This stamp set also came with 2 matching die cuts, so I used them to cut out the bird and his wing for dimension on this otherwise CAS card.

After stamping the sentiment in the slate blue, I then die cut the whole stamped panel out and layered it on to the front of a slate blue card front.

Until next time~

Sweet Treats

Today's design team project with Craftin' Desert Divas is a fun triple shaker card! I started by printing 3 of the icecream images from the Cool Treats digital stamp set and coloring them with colored pencils.

I die cut the smallest rectangle from the Crazy Stitched Frame Dies set 6 times -3 for the fronts and 3 for the backs of the shaker boxes. For the front pieces, I then cut out the centers to make frames and for the backs, I ink blended the polka dots in 3 different distress ink colors using the Sorted Shapes 2 stencil.

After building the shaker boxes, I filled them with microbeads in 3 co-ordinating colors. The "Sweet Treats" sentiment is from the Simply Said Clear Stamp Set but I'd like share a little tip here for stamping sentiments with Distress Ink...sometimes Distress Ink gets splotchy if you try to stamp sentiments with it, so if you first press your stamp on to a Versamark ink pad and then on to the distress ink pad it seems to help the ink cling to the stamp and gives better coverage that way.

That's it for me until next week~

Wish BIG!

Today's design team project with Lemon Shortbread uses the Reach for the Stars Fairy digital stamp from the Lemon Shortbread Etsy shop.

I will also be entering it at Classic Design Team Challenge, @ A Perfect Time to Craft, @ A Bit More Time to Craft, & Stamping Sensations -all for "Anything Goes" plus @ Dare 2B Artsy for "Bright Colors".

I colored her up with pencils, cut her out and popped her up on a background of stars. I used a stencil and blended 3 distress ink colors to get the variegated look.

Until next time~

Poinsettia JOY

Today's design team project for the Happy Little Stampers Christmas Challenge was a fun one to make and I enjoyed finally doing a Christmas Eclipse Card.

After stamping and then coloring the image with colored pencils, I used an alphabet die set from Spellbinders and popped up the letters with some skinny foam strips from Stampin' Up!

Subtle, but sophisticated with the white on white horizontal striped embossed background...at least I happen to think so, lol.

Until next time~

My Spring Coffee Lover's Blog Hop Entry #2

Today's second design team project is with Craftin' Desert Divas and is my first attempt at an "Impossible Card". There was a great tutorial over on Split Coast Stampers this week that finally convinced me to give it a shot, since it folds flat for mailing. The fold is actually much more simple than it looks!

I will also be submitting this as my second entry over at the Coffee Lover's Blog Hop and joining in once again with the Daily Marker 30 Day Coloring Challenge

I used a new digital stamp from the CDD shop called "Flamingo Coffee Mug" along with the sentiment from the "Simply Said" stamp set.

Coloring was done using water color pencils and a water pen. Sequins and sparkle drops made the perfect accents to the pattern papers I found in my stash from Creative Memories.

Have a great weekend ~until next time~

Hello From the Pellet Factory

Today's first design team project is for the Mix It Up Challenge Blog where we are highlighting the "Smooshing" technique. I will also be entering my card over at Try Stampin' On Tuesday since I used both their sketch and their "Crazy Critters" theme.

To make the "smooshed" water color background, I used 2 colors of Brusho watercolor crystals on my craft sheet and sprayed a water based shimmer spray over top to activate the colors. I then picked up the colors on a 1/4 sheet of watercolor paper and used my heat tool to speed up the drying process between layers.

This quipy stamp set from Art Impressions is called Guinea Pig Out...the inside sentiment is something that all guinea pig owners will totally understand, because while they are super cute and sweet...piggies produce ALOT of waste for being such small creatures, lol!

I colored the cute piggie using Prisma colored pencils and mounted him with foam tape over an oval that I detailed with black pen faux stitching and watercolor splatters.

Until next time~
