About Me

Hello and thanks for taking the time to visit my little crafting space here on the web! I am a wife (married 25 years -in August of 2016- to my highschool sweetheart), mom of 2 young adult children and a crafter. In addition to paper crafting, I also like to spend time knitting and rescuing small furbabies (like hamsters, mice and gerbils). I am a pre-school teacher by trade, but a battle with severe, late-stage chronic Lyme disease forced me to quit my teaching job in late 2014. Since then my health has taken many twists and turns, but I remain optimistic that I may one day live a normal, healthy life. In the mean-time, I stamp! LOL

I began my interest in stamping roughly 20+ years ago when my mother-in-law introduced me to card making. Prior to that I had always enjoyed crafts in general and I loved to color. Finding out what I could do with rubber stamps, ink and cardstock opened up a whole new world for me! I also got hooked on scapbooking -which was great because I got to keep all the things I created in albums for my family to enjoy. I spent several years as a demonstrator with Stampin' Up! when my kiddos were small and I was a stay-at-home momma. When my son started kindergarten I went back to work and my stamping took a back seat for a while.

When I started stamping again after a few year's break, I fell in love with a new company called The Angel Company that offered one of the first unmounted rubber stamping systems...I was a consultant with them for quite a few years -winning many design contests and having my work featured in their yearly catalogs was a blast! I had cards published in several crafting publications -the Rubber Stamper magazine & Stamper's Sampler/Take Ten to name a few. During this time frame I also worked on a design team through a Yahoo group for a monthly paper kit club. Sadly, TAC closed their doors in 2012.

Then I changed schools/jobs and just had no time for card making, sigh. This creative dry spell lasted for several years until my health took a serious nose dive and I suddenly found myself with alot of free time. To keep from losing my mind during Lyme treatment, I cleaned off my stamping desk and dove back into the world of paper crafting...discovered many new stamp companies and the joys of creative planning along the way. So here I am today...learning my way through using social media to share my love of crafting and teaching again by designing for card making classes at my local library.

Thanks again for sharing this creative journey with me...I love having the honor of possibly helping to inspire and coach you towards finding your own Creative Peace in this wonderful world of paper-crafting!

God Bless~Kathy K
p.s. this photo was taken of my hubby, me, my daughter and my son at my daughter's wedding in the fall of 2016...and yes, I am the short one, (even though I am 5'6" tall) lol ;)

    1. Thank you, Aunt Carol-took me while to figure out how to add the pages and tabs to the blog, but I fumbled my way thru it and then patted myself on the back when it was done lol!
